Endodontic Management of a Mandibular Third Molar Displaying a Midmesial Canal
Abstract Unusual root canal anatomy presents diagnostic and clinical challenges for practitioners. The predominant root canal configuration in human molars consists of two roots and three canals; however, alternative combinations may also be present. Third molars exhibit the most atypical anatomical features among human teeth. Endodontic treatment of third molars is frequently necessary for restorative, orthodontic, and prosthetic purposes to maintain their functionality within the dental arch. This case report illustrates atypical root canal morphology in the mandibular third molar, featuring a midmesial canal, which signifies an endodontic oddity. This case report emphasises the importance of exploring extra canals, which can significantly influence the success of endodontic therapy.
