AI-Driven Decision Making as a Source of Competitive Advantage in MBA-Level Business Strategy

In today’s hypercompetitive global environment, organizations must make faster and more accurate strategic decisions to survive. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have fundamentally transformed how firms interpret data, optimize operations, forecast risks, and build sustained competitive advantage. This study presents an MBA-level strategic framework explaining how AI-driven decision models enhance predictive accuracy, operational efficiency, scenario analysis, and organizational learning. By synthesizing academic literature, industry cases (such as Netflix, Amazon, and Tesla), and established strategic theories including the Resource-Based View (RBV) and bounded rationality, the paper demonstrates that AI-enabled decision-making is not only a technological enhancement but a core strategic capability. Firms that integrate AI into their managerial workflows achieve superior adaptability, resilience, and long-term performance. The paper also discusses key ethical, organizational, and governance challenges associated with AI adoption.
