Mechanical Properties Studies on the sustainable Palmyra Sheath Palm Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites
In recent years, the bio fiber reinforced polymer has been developed as an alternative method of man made fiber reinforced polymer. This bio fiber composites and has several advantages in fabrication of compression moulding process. In addition, the explicit and reduce the weight, increase the strength and stiffness of composites. The utilization of bio fiber composites has been focused on automotive sectors and industry sectors since the composites bio degradable, high strength, weight reduction, cost reduction, eco-friendly, vibration resistance etc.is used to make low weight machine elements. The goal of this studies is to bio sheath palm fibers as reinforcement in to polyester matrix and to boost low weight as well as high strength materials. Sheath Palm fiber is lingo cellulosic and the fibers is earned simply with using up of less energy. In this studies, the extraction of sheath palm fibers is manually characteristics of palm fiber reinforced composites are found experimentally. Palm fibers are arranged unidirectional orientation, manufacturing the composite laminates into six varying weight percentage as 30%, 35%,40%, 45% , 50% and 55%. The 50wt % fiber loading of the composites is well entrenched in the matrix and exhibits improve performance in the mechanical properties. The half of the raptured tensile, flexural, impact and inter laminar shear failure specimen is examined by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The tensile, flexural, inter laminar shear and impact fracture specimens reveal the 50wt% fiber content of composite with tough fiber matrix bonding characteristics. The results explore the implementing bio sheath palm fiber reinforced polymer composites with light load carrying structural applications.
