PIUM: A Unified Wave-Field Model of Matter, Light, Spin and Mass

This record is archived. The current PIUM release is available here:https://zenodo.org/records/18221734 This work presents PIUM, a unified physical framework in which all observedphenomena arise from a single, universal wave-field Φ(x,t). Matter is notcomposed of elementary particles, but of self-closed interference loops of the field. A loop is stationary in space but internally circulating, and this internal flow gives rise to mass, inertia, spin, and stability. Different observed “particles” correspond to distinct topological closure modes of the wave-field. Photons are open waves (N = 0), neutrinos represent minimal closures (N = 1), electrons are fractional spiral loops requiring 720° rotation (spin-½), and nucleons are three-sector toroidal closures (N = 3). Quarks arise as phase sectors of these loops, while gluons represent the information enforcing null-closure. This resolves confinement naturally. Mass is reinterpreted as deviation of |Φ| from the vacuum null point. Wave–particle duality disappears: detection forces an open wave into a closed-loop state. Cosmologically, the universal open wave-field forms a timeless background, while all material structures are temporary closed loops eventually returning to the open field. PIUM provides a coherent ontological foundation for a wave-based universe. PIUM is not intended to be interpreted as a standalone or competing theory, nor does it seek to override existing physical frameworks. Instead, it provides a coherent interpretative template that can be placed beneath current experimental and theoretical results, allowing fragmented phenomena to be understood within a unified wave-field perspective.
