Qxidized Polysaccharides from Lentinus edodes /Carboxymethyl Chitosan Hydrogel Loaded with Tannic Acid for Accelerating the Infected Wound Repair
Infected wounds present a major global health challenge, driving the need for advanced wound dressings with strong antibacterial and multifunctional properties. To address this, we developed OL-CC/TA2, a multifunctional antibacterial hydrogel, via Schiff base interactions between oxidized polysaccharides from Lentinus edodes (OL) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CC), reinforced by multiple hydrogen bonds with tannic acid (TA). OL-CC/TA2 exhibited outstanding physicochemical characteristics and biocompatibility, coupled with potent antioxidant, antibacterial, and hemostatic functions. ELISA analysis showed that OL-CC/TA2 promotes macrophage secretion of cytokines associated with regeneration. Furthermore, in vivo experiments demonstrated that OL-CC/TA2 effectively suppressed bacterial infections, accelerated hemostasis, and promoted the regeneration of epithelial tissue as well as collagen deposition. These collective results suggest the potential of OL-CC/TA2 as a promising therapeutic candidate for infected wound repair.
