Towards Resilient Territorial Development
Territorial development is a process which consists of improving the living conditions of the populations of a given territory by using local resources in a sustainable manner. However, economic, environmental, health or social crises can jeopardize this progress by destabilizing local economies and communities. This is why it is increasingly necessary to adopt a resilient territorial development approach in the face of crises. This approach consists of strengthening the capacity of territories to cope with crises by anticipating risks, diversifying sources of economic activity and strengthening social ties. This descriptive article aims to conceptualize this approach by trying to answer our problem: How can territories move effectively from a focus on territorial development to territorial resilience, while ensuring equitable and inclusive results for all stakeholders?
