The Impact of Adaptation and Standardization Strategies on Brands in International Markets
This study aims to analyze the adaptation and standardization approaches of marketing strategies employed by brands operating in international markets. Specifically, it explores the impact of adaptation strategies on the capacity to adapt to local markets and role of standardization strategies in maintaining brand identity and consistency. The study examines global brands such as McDonald’s, Coco-Cola and Netflix as case sutudies for adaptation strategies, demonstrating how these brands preserve and enhance their brand values by adjusting to local cultural, economic and consumer habits. Conversely, the analysis of standardization strategies focuses on the standard and original product, service and brand communication strategies implemented by IKEA, Apple and Amazon in international markets. The findings of the study show that both strategies play significant roles in global brand success, yet their implementation processes vary depending on marketing objectives and market conditions. The results emphasize the importance of achieving a balance between these two strategies to gain a competitive advantage in international markets.
