Analysis of The Benefits of Auction and Non-Auction Systems: A Case Study of Red Chili Marketing in Kapanewon Galur Kulon Progo
One of the horticultural commodities whose selling price fluctuates is red chili. In Kulonprogo, red chili marketing is carried out with two systems, namely selling with an auction system and a non-auction system (middlemen). This study aims to determine the profits obtained by red chili farmers in Kapanewon Galur, Kulonprogo Regency when selling through an auction system compared to a non-auction system (middlemen). The respondents taken were 95 farmers with 69 farmers selling with an auction system and 26 farmers selling with a non-auction system. The analysis was carried out by profit analysis and statistical tests of significant differences. Based on the results of the study, the profit of auction farmers was IDR 82,865,154 with a production of 4653 kg, the profit of non-auction farmers was IDR 70,552,634 with a production of 4589 kg on an area of 3500 m each2. Based on the analysis of the real difference test, there is a difference in profit between farmers who sell with an auction system and a non-auction system. The difference in profit between auction and non-auction farmers is influenced by the selling price received by farmers. The selling price of red chili with an auction system is higher than with a non-auction system.
