A Möbius–Euler Identity and the Golden Ratio in Number Theory

Version 2 significantly expands the work by establishing a spectral realization of the arithmetic kernel derived in Version 1. We construct a self-adjoint Hamiltonian H_Θ with a Theta-periodic potential and prove, via the Gelfand-Yaglom theorem, that its spectral determinant is proportional to the Riemann Ξ(z) function. This unifies the arithmetic Golden Ratio identity with the spectral nature of the Riemann Hypothesis. We prove a striking generating-function identity linking the Möbius function mu and Euler’s totient phi: sum over k≥1 of [(mu(k) − phi(k)) / k] * log(1 − x^k) = x^2 / (1 − x) Its normalization S(x) = 1 singles out the golden ratiox = phi^(-1) = (sqrt(5) − 1) / 2. By coupling the von Mangoldt function Lambda with a scaled phi(k)/k term we definea*(k) = Lambda(k) − alpha * phi(k) / k, and two independent calibrations alpha*(x) and alpha~(x) satisfying sum over k≥1 of [a*(k)/k] * log(1 − x^k) = 1,sum over k≥1 of [a*(k) * k] * log(1 − x^k) = 0. Both converge to zeta(2) = pi^2 / 6 as x → 1− and give nearly identical values:alpha*(phi^(-1)) ≈ 1.1259358, alpha~(phi^(-1)) ≈ 1.1185003. The associated Dirichlet seriesB*(s) = − zeta'(s+1)/zeta(s+1) − alpha * zeta(s+1)/zeta(s+2)has poles at the zeros of the Riemann zeta function, suggesting a spectral link to the Riemann Hypothesis. This identity thus connects arithmetic structure, the golden ratio, and zeta spectra through a single self-calibrating equation.
