When halogen bonding isn't enough: solvation behavior in ionic cocrystals of benzyltrimethylammonium halides and 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene
Crystallization of 1,4-diiodo-tetrafluorobenzene with trimethylbenzyl ammonium halides (NMe 3 BzX, X = Cl, Br, I) shows anion and solvent dependence: NMe 3 BzI favors solvated 1 : 1 cocrystals, while NMe 3 BzBr and NMe 3 BzCl favor unsolvated 1 : 1 networks.
