Empirical Search for Scalar Temporal Flow in Fast Radio Burst Dispersion Anisotropy

The Scalar Temporal Field Ontology (STFO) proposes that time is represented by a dynamical scalar field τ (xμ) whose spacetime gradients govern inertial structure, cur-vature, and causal directionality. A direct astrophysical consequence of this frameworkis a weak but potentially measurable angular anisotropy in the dispersion measures(DMs) of fast radio bursts (FRBs), arising from large-scale gradients in τ that areindependent of baryonic plasma density. In this work, we formulate a fully empirical, statistically falsifiable search for scalar-temporal anisotropy in publicly available FRBcatalogs. Using spherical harmonic decomposition, velocity-field cross-correlation, andcontrolled plasma foreground subtraction, we test whether residual FRB dispersionexhibits a dipolar or quadrupolar angular structure aligned with reconstructed cosmicbulk flows. The analysis is designed such that either a statistically significant detectionor a null constraint yields a quantitative bound on the scalar temporal gradient |∇μτ |.This paper establishes the first extragalactic test design for STFO in a fully indepen-dent observational domain and provides a clear path to either detection or progressiveexclusion with improving FRB data.
