Preterm Rupture of Membranes
Preterm rupture of membranes (PROM), defined as rupture of the fetal membranes before the onset of labor, remains a significant clinical challenge due to its association with maternal and neonatal complications. This article reviews current understanding of PROM, outlines typical data points collected in clinical evaluation, summarizes findings from representative clinical observations, and discusses implications for management strategies. The aim is to provide an organized, academically structured overview suitable for undergraduate medical learners.
