NextGen Voting System: A Secure and Efficient Online Student Voting Framework Using Unique Student Identifiers

This survey paper provides an analysis of secure and efficient online voting systems designed specifically for colleges and academic institutions. It examines challenges in traditional paper-based voting, such as manual errors, slow counting, and lack of transparency, and evaluates the need for a modern digital voting solution. The proposed NextGen Voting System uses unique ZPRN-based student identification to prevent duplicate votes, ensure authentication, and enhance fairness. The paper includes literature review, comparative analysis of existing voting technologies, and a conceptual model tailored for college elections. Key components such as student authentication, vote casting, admin control, encryption, and real-time result generation are discussed. The study concludes that a structured online voting framework can significantly improve transparency, speed, and accuracy in academic elections.
