REVIEW ON ANALYSING THE PRESENCE OF HEAVY METALS IN MULTIVITAMIN SYRUP

Recent worries over their quality and safety. Despite the claims that these products will strengthen immunity and promote health, there is a serious risk to the public's health from the potential for heavy metal contamination, including lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic. Using conventional analytical methods like atomic absorption spectroscopy (aas), this initiative focuses on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of heavy metal levels in widely accessible multivitamin syrups. Traces of specific heavy metals were found in several samples, while preliminary results indicate that the majority of items are under safe limits. These results bring up significant issues about the nutraceutical industry's sourcing of raw materials, production procedures, and quality control methods. Particularly in youngsters, who are among the main consumers of these syrups, prolonged exposure to even low concentrations of heavy metals can have cumulative harmful effects. In order to guarantee customer safety, the study emphasizes the necessity of more stringent regulatory control, regular testing, and open labelling procedures. Making educated decisions and raising public knowledge of such hazards are equally crucial. In the end, this initiative emphasizes how crucial it is to strike a balance between safety regulations and health advantages in the expanding market for health supplements.
