Study of the Effect of MHD on Heat and Mass Transfer of Jeffrey Fluid with Chemical Reaction and Thermal Radiation Using Chebyshev Wavelets
In this study, the numerical solution of boundary layer flow, heat and mass transfer of a steady, laminar and two-dimensional incompressible magnetohydrodynamic viscoelastic Jeffrey fluid over a linear stretching sheet with suction/injection is investigated. The power law form of surface temperature and concentration and the presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction, generate extremely nonlinear, coupled partial differential equations, which are subsequently transformed into ordinary differential equations with boundary conditions via similarity transformations. To cope with the nonlinearity in the equations, the quasilinearization technique is used and the resultant equations are quantitatively solved using the Chebyshev wavelet collocation method. The main advantage of this method is that the differential equations are converted into a system of algebraic equations, which can be easily evaluated. The effects of various physical parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are investigated. The numerical values of the local skin friction coefficient, the local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number are also collated and examined. As a result, we see that the external magnetic field controls the temperature increase and enhances the velocity profile. The error analysis is done to justify the convergence of the obtained solution.
