Tools of Organizing Information Resources
This work discusses the major tools used for organizing information resources in Information Retrieval Systems (IRS), including classification schemes, thesauri, faceted thesauri, classaurus, and subject heading lists. It explains how each tool supports systematic arrangement, vocabulary control, multidimensional indexing, and consistent subject access. The study highlights their individual roles in improving search precision, recall, and efficient knowledge discovery in both traditional and digital environments. By examining their structure, applications, and limitations, the work shows how these tools collectively form the backbone of effective information organization and retrieval in modern knowledge systems.
