Platelet Restoration Through Ayurveda: A Case Report of Chronic ITP Management
Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks Platelet cells of the body, which may lead to symptoms like easy bruising, gum bleeding and petechiae. In Ayurveda, this condition can be correlated with the Tiryagata Raktapitta [1], which involves the vitiation of Pitta dosha and Rakta Dhatu. The patient was started on Swarn Vasant Malti Ras, Kumar Kalyan Ras, Pitta Balance Capsule, Kaharva Pishti, Platoplan Syrup, Hemoplan Syrup, Vikramprash, and Immune Booster Capsule. The platelet count of the patient increased from 32000 to 3 lakh 68000 at the end of treatment. This article will present a study of a case report of ITP, which we have managed with Ayurvedic medicines.
