Atypical Ophthalmic Presentation of First and Second Branchial Arch Developmental Anomaly
First and second branchial arch anomalies encompass a group of congenital malformations that arise from defects in the embryological development of the branchial arches, structures critical to the formation of the head and neck. These anomalies can lead to a wide range of clinical manifestations affecting the facial, cervical, ocular, and auditory regions. Herein, we report a case of such oculofacial syndrome with atypical findings not reported earlier. Furthermore, this article focuses on how an ophthalmologist can improve outcomes for affected children in such cases.
