Spectral Control Operator (OCS): Mathematical Foundations
The Spectral Control Operator (OCS) introduces a paradigm shift in dynamical systems control by operating directly on the spectral content of the system dynamics. Motivated by spectral signatures of instability and vulnerability, the OCS enforces boundedness, separation, and robustness in the eigenvalue spectrum and energy distribution. This paper formalizes the OCS as a nonlinear operator, derives its canonical algebraic form integrating invariant-driven corrections (via Gamma Theory and HSB projectors), and proves global asymptotic stability under mild assumptions. Applications to high-risk systems, such as rocket attitude control, are discussed. The framework unifies classical state-space methods with spectral guardians for ultra-fast, low-dimensional interventions. ` This work is part of a unified trilogy of robust control methods developed by the author: - Gamma Theory (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17766766): A geometric framework for nonlinear stability. - Hermitian Spectral Bound (HSB) (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17703739): An algebraic projector for real-time robust validation. - Spectral Control Operator (OCS) (current work): A spectral guardian operator for ultra-fast stabilization. Together, these contributions establish a coherent foundation for spectral, geometric, and algebraic approaches to robust stability in high-risk dynamical systems. `
