The Spectrum of Life Theory proposes that life exists on a continuous scale, extending far smaller and far larger than current biology recognizes. Humans are presented as a midpoint in a nested hierarchy of living systems. Just as microorganisms exist within us, smaller hypothetical forms such as pico-organisms and yocto-organisms may exist within them at quantum scales. Likewise, humanity may function as a tiny living component inside a much larger organism: the Earth, the Solar System, the Galaxy, and ultimately the Universe itself as a vast living being. This model suggests that biology and physics are not separate fields but reflect the same underlying living structure of reality. Energy flow, information exchange, and adaptation appear at every scale, from subatomic systems to cosmic networks. Consciousness is considered a scale-relative phenomenon emerging wherever complexity allows. The theory challenges our current definition of life, arguing that our limitations come from perception, not nature. It expands the idea of the living universe and invites a unified view of existence as interconnected life across infinite scales.
