Novel dinuclear FeII complex with a dithiosquarato bridging ligand
Abstract Complexes incorporating oxalato and anilato can construct frameworks in various dimensions, while the squarato are typically confined to one-dimensional chains. In this work, we report the synthesis of a dithiosquarato-bridged (μ-dts) dinuclear iron(II) complex. Chelate coordination, rarely observed in squarato chemistry, becomes feasible with the dts, leading to a μ-bridged dinuclear structure. The paramagnetic states with a high-spin state of Fe(II) sites are stabilized owing to the arrangement of coordination sites, which is constrained by the cyclobutadiene skeleton of dts.
