Research Release v1.0: Quantum-Augmented Query Optimization & Data Architecture (Series Hub)
TL;DRProblem: Modern DB systems face structural trade-offs (polyglot vs. multimodel) and robustness gaps in query optimization/OLAP under skew, drift, and correlations.Approach: A 4-part research series combining model/simulation evidence and system-oriented design patterns, including a quantum-inspired reliability-gated estimator (QACE).Evidence: Each part provides explicit assumptions/limitations and empirical, model-based, or simulation-based evidence; a reproducibility bundle is planned. This record is the series hub for a 4-part research release (tetralogy) on database systems: structural trade-offs in modern data architectures and quantum-inspired techniques for robust query optimization and OLAP execution. What’s included Manuscripts (Zenodo DOIs) Part 1: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17797344One-line: We formalize projection-induced metric distortion and demonstrate a “findability collapse” in similarity-based retrieval (simulation-based). Part 2: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17797276One-line: We quantify polyglot vs. multimodel trade-offs via a coupling-ratio model and identify break-even regions for cross-store query workloads. Part 3: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17796162One-line: We propose QACE, a reliability-gated hybrid estimator that selectively invokes a quantum-inspired routine to mitigate CE failures under skew/correlation. Part 4: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17796302One-line: We analyze key-only offloading for OLAP bottlenecks (Top-K/join primitives) and derive break-even conditions under a hybrid latency/cost model. Recommended reading order Part 1 → Part 2 → Part 3 → Part 4 Research positioning Unpublished, non-commercial research preprint series intended for open dissemination and community feedback. Emphasis on explicit assumptions/limitations and model- or simulation-based evidence where applicable. Reproducibility (current status) This hub provides a stable citation and navigation entrypoint for the series. A reproducibility bundle (code/data/environment + claims table) is planned for a subsequent release (new version). Feedback I’m looking for Which baselines and related work should be emphasized for each part? Are the modeling assumptions and break-even analyses reasonable? Which part is most promising for a real-system prototype? (Optional) Which part should be prioritized for journal submission?
