ChildTech Policy Insight – When Policy Falls Behind Life
Artificial intelligence and digital culture evolve faster than education and child-protection policies can respond. This document presents the position of the ChildTechLab HUN – Smart Kindergarten R+D programme on how technological change enters early childhood education, what risks emerge from policy delays, and how children’s development can be supported in a digital environment in a human-centric, ethical and pedagogically grounded manner. The presentation highlights the principle of “two-way inflows,” explores the pedagogical and ethical implications of AI in early childhood, and introduces the modular ChildTechLab ecosystem that connects technology, pedagogy and policy.
