Journal for the Philosophical Study of Education Volume 5
Welcome to the fifth volume of the Journal for the Philosophical Study of Education (JPSE), a peer-reviewed journal put out under the auspices of the Society for the Philosophical Study of Education (SPSE). We would like to thank Fordham University for giving us access to its digital research platform, and Professor Babette Babich of Fordham University, editor of New Nietzsche Studies and author of numerous articles and books on topics ranging from Nietzsche to Ivan Illich to Leonard Cohen and Harry Potter, for her generosity, support, and participation in this project. We would also like to thank Doctor Sabrina Bacher, president of SPSE, for gathering, organizing, and editing the symposium on ethics in education in times of transformation which is featured in this volume. The symposium derives from one of the recent annual SPSE conferences (held online each November since the beginning of the Covid pandemic, and free for attendees). Many of the papers offered in this volume were first presented at the conference, then submitted in revised form for peer review before being accepted for the journal. Dr. Bacher has organized several events for the society, including the annual online conference and a Spring lecture series, and we are proud to acknowledge her immense help in getting this issue of the journal together, as the symposium makes up a large portion of the current volume. Dr. Bacher’s close eye also is responsible for the detection of several errors in the penultimate version of this work.
