D2.3 - Technologies enabling energy system integration

Report on the potential benefits and challenges of different production, storage, and grid integration technologies. D2.3 evaluates the performance, economic viability, and integration potential of a broad range of hydrogen-related technologies — including green hydrogen production, thermochemical pathways, desalination, wastewater treatment, oxygen valorisation, and advanced storage solutions — for deployment in regional ecosystems such as the Alentejo Hydrogen Valley. The outcome is a scenario-informed, robust database that supports integrated infrastructure planning, energy system modelling for 2030–2050, and strategic decision-making for Portugal’s hydrogen transition.
