Prerequisites for BLIK payments – generational perspective

The research objective of this article is to identify, analyze and evaluate the impact assessment of the perceived risks and benefits as prerequisites for the use of BLIK mobile payments by representatives of generational cohorts of Poles. The study adopts the research perspective set by the theory of reasoned action (TRA) and the net worth model (NVM), and also uses critical analysis of the source literature, descriptive and comparative analysis, a diagnostic survey and statistical methods, i.e. structure analysis or Kendall’s Tau correlation analysis. Empirical data were collected in 2023 using the CAWI method. They originated from a representative survey sample of 1,000 Poles. The conducted studies confirmed the validity of using TRA theory and NVM model in the process of identifying the adoption factors of innovative payment instruments. They proved that the consumers’ perceptions of risk as well as monetary and non-monetary benefits strongly influence their decisions to use mobile payments, while both this perception and use show differences for the particular generational cohorts of surveyed Poles
