TAXONOMIC ANALYSIS OF 16S rDNA OF SOYBEAN NODULE BACTERIA (GLYCINE MAX (L.) MERR.)

A total of 20 strains of nodule bacteria were isolated from soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) merr.). The study of bacterial nodules in these plants in a microvegetation experiment yielded a very low level of nodules on the roots of the plants. In a vegetation experiment, intensive nodulation of soybean plants was noted. The cultural and morphological properties of the bacteria showed that they formed colorless mucous colonies, were gram-negative and had rod-shaped cells. When viewed under a microscope, their high mobility was noted. Nucleotide sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and BLAST analysis showed that the isolated fast-growing and slow-growing soybean nodule bacteria belong to the genera Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Sinorhizobium fredii.
