Risk Factors Associated with Maternal Filicide: A Scoping Review
This poster presents findings from a scoping review about the psychological, social, and cultural risk factors for maternal filicide from a global perspective. The review was conducted in accordance with JBI and PRISMA-ScR, and searches were carried out in MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and Google Scholar for the years 2001–2022. The analysis underscores some of the overlapping determinants, including maternal mental illness, socioeconomic stressors, gender inequality, domestic violence, and cultural expectations. From a feminist theoretical perspective, this poster synthesizes themes that reflect structural and contextual drivers of maternal behavior. These findings highlight the need for integrated mental health support, culturally responsive interventions, and strengthened policy-level prevention.
