Twinning Medieval Stained Glass – An Interdisciplinary Data Integration in Cultural Heritage
The transition from fragmented, discipline-bound data practices to an integrated digital research environment is both a technical and interdisciplinary challenge. By aligning efforts in semantic modelling, analytical computation, and domain-specific knowledge, we move closer to a sustainable infrastructure for studying cultural heritage in its full material and symbolic richness. The creation of digital twins – enriched through correlations, pattern recognition, and semantic linking – promises not only to preserve artefacts digitally, but also to unlock easier access to and new forms of knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration.
