ROLE OF EDUCATION IN IMPLEMENTING HUMAN RIGHTS

With differing degrees of conviction, education has been acknowledged as an essential component of both individual growth and societal self-fulfillment. Both individually and collectively, it is regarded as a crucial tool for social mobility, equality, and empowerment. Citizens will learn about all the values-such as self-determination, fairness, life dignity, public welfare, and coexisting peacefully—through appropriate education, and they will also learn how to appropriately adapt to society. By encouraging awareness of rights and freedoms, advancing ideals like equality and tolerance, and enabling people to participate as change agents, education is essential for the implementation of human rights. It helps create a just society where everyone's rights are upheld by giving individuals the tools they need to recognize their rights, fight against abuses, and take part in democratic processes. A proper education will increase their awareness of their rights and responsibilities and assist them in guiding others in the event that their rights are being infringed. One cannot thrive in society without human rights, which are among the most fundamental and essential rights. All people, regardless of their nationality, religion, race, or social standing, are entitled to the same set of human rights. Every individual has an equal and nondiscriminatory entitlement to human rights. Humanity has come to believe that human rights awareness is essential as a result of destruction and suffering. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948, was the first step in this direction. Human rights standards for all people are established by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. By properly understanding the rights outlined in the Indian constitution, such as Articles 14, 15, 16, 19, 25, 28, 30, 41, 45, and 46, education plays a significant role in empowering people to exercise their human rights. The present paper is an attempt to highlight the role of education in implementing Right to Education Act of 2009 and how education aids in the implementation of human rights are briefly discussed.

Abstract

The present paper is an attempt to highlight the role of education in implementing Right to Education Act of 2009 and how education aids in the implementation of human rights are briefly discussed.
