A STUDY ON EMPLOYEES' PERCEPTION OF WORK-LIFE BALANCE IN SELECTED IT COMPANIES OF GUJARAT
The study titled aims to analyse how employees perceive the balance between their professional and personal lives within the dynamic and demanding environment of the IT sector. With the increasing integration of technology and changing work patterns, maintaining a healthy work-life balance has become a critical concern for both employees and organizations. The study was conducted among 159 employees working in various IT companies across Gujarat using a random sampling method. A structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale was used to collect primary data, and statistical tools such as the one-sample t-test were applied to analyse employee perceptions. The findings of the study reveal that employees generally have a positive perception of their organization’s efforts toward maintaining work-life balance. The results indicate that employees believe their organizations provide sufficient flexibility in working hours, allowing them to manage personal responsibilities effectively. They also expressed satisfaction with the personal time available after completing their work. Moreover, employees acknowledged that their organizations recognize and actively support employee well-being and work-life balance initiatives. The statistically significant results highlight that IT employees in Gujarat experience a supportive and balanced work environment. Overall, the study emphasizes that work-life balance initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing employee satisfaction, well-being, and organizational productivity. It also suggests that IT companies should continue to strengthen their flexible work policies and wellness programs to sustain employee motivation and long-term retention.
