BRIDGING FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING GAPS: TEACHERS' EXPERIENCES WITH NIPUN IMPLEMENTATION IN NORTH DISTRICT OF TRIPURA

The present research examines teachers’ perceptions, attitudes, challenges, and recommendations concerning the implementation of the NIPUN Bharat Mission in North Tripura. This flagship initiative of the Government of India aspires to ensure that all children achieve foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) competencies by the end of Grade 3. Drawing insights from a sample of 15 teachers, the study aims to explore their awareness, readiness, and firsthand experiences related to the execution of this national mission.. Data was collected through structured surveys, highlighting key areas such as the effectiveness of the scheme, infrastructural and pedagogical challenges, and practical recommendations for improvement. The findings reveal a generally positive reception of the mission among teachers, marked by a strong understanding of its objectives and willingness to adopt digital tools and activity-based learning. However, limitations such as inadequate infrastructure, insufficient training, and socio-economic barriers were also identified. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of targeted interventions, regular monitoring, and collaborative efforts to realize the full potential of the NIPUN Bharat Mission in enhancing early-grade education.
