The Inverse Consciousness–Time Theory: A Philosophical and Cognitive Framework for Subjective Time Perception
This paper presents the final version of Inverse Consciousness–Time, a philosophical and cognitive exploration of the relationship between awareness and time perception. The framework proposes that the experience of time is inversely proportional to the intensity of consciousness — as awareness increases, perceived time slows; as awareness decreases, time accelerates. Integrating insights from phenomenology, cognitive neuroscience, and quantum interpretation, the paper argues that consciousness may function as a supra-dimensional field — a “fifth dimension” beyond space-time that enables the perception and realization of temporal flow. Through conceptual reasoning and references to measurable phenomena such as EEG frequency changes and focus-induced time dilation, the model bridges philosophy and empirical science. It suggests that time is not a pre-existing dimension, but rather an emergent property of consciousness itself.
