The C(x,y) Paradigm: A Unified Spectral Theory of Spacetime and Quantum Fields from the Correlation Operator
Abstract This paper introduces the C(x,y) Paradigm, a unified framework for quantum gravity and particle physics founded on a single fundamental entity: a non-local, self-adjoint integral operator C^ defined on the product spacetime manifold M×M. We posit that the entirety of physical reality—spacetime geometry and quantum fields—emerges from the spectral properties of this correlation operator. Applying the Spectral Action Principle, S[C^]=Tr(f(C^/Λ2)), we rigorously demonstrate that General Relativity and the Standard Model are recovered as the low-energy asymptotic expansion of this action. The theory provides strict derivations of fundamental constants, including the Gravitational Constant GG, and enforces gauge coupling unification. It dynamically selects the Standard Model algebra AF=C⊕H⊕M3(C) via a Principle of Spectral Economy and yields a precise prediction for the Higgs mass, mH≈125.5 GeV. Furthermore, the existence of exactly three fermion generations is explained as a topological consequence of the internal geometry. Crucially, the fundamental non-locality, governed by the scale σ=1/Λ, ensures ultraviolet finiteness and resolves long-standing problems: it stabilizes the electroweak hierarchy, provides a dynamical screening mechanism for the Cosmological Constant, and preserves macro-causality through a defined analytic continuation. The paradigm is falsifiable, making distinct experimental predictions in relic gravitational waves, Casimir force measurements, and the value of the strong coupling constant.
