A PETROGRAPICSTUDY AND CLASSIFICATION OF THE GRANITIC ROCK DEPOSIT OF MICHIKA AREA NORTH-EAST NIGERIA, USING GEOTHERMOMETRIC AND MATHEMATICAL APPROACHES.
This research was focused on the Petro graphic Study and classification of Granitic rock Deposit of Michika of North-East Nigeria, with the aid of Bowen and Goldschmidt concepts using Geothermometric and Mathematicalapproaches.Findings have shown that, under mathematical context with Bowen’s and Goldschmidt rules, the Granitic rock Deposit of Michika falls within gabbro clan and the minerals examined using Geothermometric and Mathematical approaches, are Ferro-biotite (Acidicmica),Oligoclase(Acidicplagioclase) and Ilmenite (Iron ore). The Granite clan includes Pumice,Dacite, Rhyolite, Granodiorite, and Granite and therefore Mathematically and Geothermometrically, Granitic sample of Granitic rock Deposit of Michika was found to be characteristics of rock of Granite clan and the rock type forGranitic sample inGranitic rock Deposit of Michika is DACITEMAGMA TYPE. Finally, the “mathematical connection” between Bowen and Goldschmidt concepts was used in this research for a concise explanation of rock of forming minerals of Granitic rock Deposit of Michikafrom the beginning to the end of crystallization
