Vacuum Compressibility and the W-Boson Mass Shift: A Hydrodynamic Approach to the CDF II Anomaly
The recent measurement of the W-boson mass by the CDF II collaboration (MW = 80,433.5±9.4 MeV) deviates from the Standard Model prediction by approximately 7σ. We propose that this anomaly arises not from new particle content, but from Non-perturbative Vacuum Polarization Effects in a Born-Infeld superfluid vacuum. We model the high-energy collision environment as a compressible medium where the local vacuum expectation value (VEV) is enhanced by hydrodynamic shockwaves. Our model, characterized by a critical scale Λ_crit ≈ 246 GeV, naturally fits the CDF II data while remaining consistent with earlier LEP results. We predict a specific saturation behavior for the mass shift at HL-LHC energies, offering a falsifiable signature for vacuum compressibility.
