Coherence Geometry as the Completion of General Relativity
This work introduces Coherence Geometry, a classical field framework in which the validity of General Relativity is regulated by a scalar coherence field Ξ. When Ξ is high and approximately constant, the Einstein–Hilbert action remains active and the Einstein field equations hold exactly, reproducing the Schwarzschild solution and all experimentally verified predictions of GR. When coherence collapses (Ξ → 0), the prefactor of the Einstein–Hilbert term vanishes dynamically, the smooth Lorentzian manifold description ceases to apply, and gravitational collapse terminates without singularities or exotic matter. Coherence Geometry therefore completes General Relativity by specifying when and why the manifold structure of spacetime fails, while preserving all of GR’s successes in its tested regime. The theory further predicts a distinct radio→optical/UV→X-ray sequence in high-energy transients due to the hierarchy of modal formation during coherence loss. Coherence Geometry is non-phenomenological, contains no adjustable parameters, and is fully consistent with observational data wherever GR has been validated.
