EPL: AI Safety in Neutrality

Emotional Provenance Learning (EPL) v2.0, developed by Papillon Pearl – Charlotte Maijala, expands the world’s first emotional-memory–centered AI framework into a comprehensive interdisciplinary standard. EPL teaches artificial intelligence how humans create, assign, preserve, transform, and inherit emotional meaning across objects, stories, relationships, rituals, and cultural artifacts. Unlike traditional affective computing—which focuses on detecting visible emotions—EPL models deep emotional causality, attachment patterns, lineage pathways, memory continuity, and cross-cultural emotional inheritance. This makes emotional meaning computable, traceable, preservable, and ethically transferable across time, generations, and digital systems. Version 2.0 introduces major structural and theoretical advancements, including: • The Emotional Provenance Ledger (EPL™) A structured and ethically governed emotional-memory architecture that encodes context, lineage, narrative events, trauma, restoration, ritual significance, and cultural identity. • The Emotional Provenance Standard (EPS v1.0 → v2 Integration) A global metadata schema informed byIEEE 7014, ISO/IEC 30150-31, CIDOC-CRM, and UNESCO intangible heritage principles, enabling consistent emotional data governance, lineage mapping, trauma-safe handling, and digital heritage preservation. • The World Emotional Object Graph (WEO Graph) A multi-layered knowledge graph that maps emotional meaning across owners, families, communities, cultures, migrations, and historical contexts.WEO models emotional transitions as nodes, edges, weights, vectors, and density indices. • Emotional Lineage Modeling A method for tracing emotional evolution across time—including legacy lineage, interrupted lineage, migratory lineage, rewritten meaning, mythic expansion, and communal emotional memory. • Expanded Emotional Energy States A deeper model describing how objects move through dormant, anchored, activated, amplified, fragmented, cleansed, transferred, and stabilized emotional states. EPL v2.0 establishes emotional provenance as a formal interdisciplinary field connecting: artificial intelligence memory science psychology digital cultural heritage anthropology cognitive therapy identity preservation museum and provenance sciences The EPL framework enables: emotional memory preservation systems cultural and heritage continuity models AI empathy and narrative-reasoning engines Alzheimer’s and cognitive-support memory reconstruction emotional provenance tracking for museums and auction houses ethically governed emotional lineage transfer in digital ecosystems EPL v2.0 positions emotional meaning as a structured, preservable form of human knowledge and provides the foundational architecture for future AI systems that must understand human history, identity, and meaning at a much deeper level.

Abstract

Emotional Provenance Learning (EPL) v2.0, developed by Papillon Pearl – Charlotte Maijala, expands the world’s first emotional-memory–centered AI framework into a comprehensive interdisciplinary standard. EPL teaches artificial intelligence how humans create, assign, preserve, transform, and inherit emotional meaning across objects, stories, relationships, rituals, and cultural artifacts. Unlike traditional affective computing—which focuses on detecting visible emotions—EPL models deep emotional causality, attachment patterns, lineage pathways, memory continuity, and cross-cultural emotional inheritance. This makes emotional meaning computable, traceable, preservable, and ethically transferable across time, generations, and digital systems. Version 2.0 introduces major structural and theoretical advancements, including: • The Emotional Provenance Ledger (EPL™) A structured and ethically governed emotional-memory architecture that encodes context, lineage, narrative events, trauma, restoration, ritual significance, and cultural identity. • The Emotional Provenance Standard (EPS v1.0 → v2 Integration) A global metadata schema informed byIEEE 7014, ISO/IEC 30150-31, CIDOC-CRM, and UNESCO intangible heritage principles, enabling consistent emotional data governance, lineage mapping, trauma-safe handling, and digital heritage preservation. • The World Emotional Object Graph (WEO Graph) A multi-layered knowledge graph that maps emotional meaning across owners, families, communities, cultures, migrations, and historical contexts.WEO models emotional transitions as nodes, edges, weights, vectors, and density indices. • Emotional Lineage Modeling A method for tracing emotional evolution across time—including legacy lineage, interrupted lineage, migratory lineage, rewritten meaning, mythic expansion, and communal emotional memory. • Expanded Emotional Energy States A deeper model describing how objects move through dormant, anchored, activated, amplified, fragmented, cleansed, transferred, and stabilized emotional states. EPL v2.0 establishes emotional provenance as a formal interdisciplinary field connecting: artificial intelligence memory science psychology digital cultural heritage anthropology cognitive therapy identity preservation museum and provenance sciences The EPL framework enables: emotional memory preservation systems cultural and heritage continuity models AI empathy and narrative-reasoning engines Alzheimer’s and cognitive-support memory reconstruction emotional provenance tracking for museums and auction houses ethically governed emotional lineage transfer in digital ecosystems EPL v2.0 positions emotional meaning as a structured, preservable form of human knowledge and provides the foundational architecture for future AI systems that must understand human history, identity, and meaning at a much deeper level.
