SUR - The Structural Uncertainty Relation (v1.3 - updated 20. November 2025)
The Structural Uncertainty Relation (SUR) proposes that uncertainty ranges around critical thresholds are structural features of nature rather than methodological shortcomings. We test this principle using evaluated nuclear decay data and cosmological time scales including Hubble constants, the age of the Universe, the Solar System, globular clusters and supernova rise times. Across more than eighteen orders of magnitude in time all systems consistently satisfy the relation. Nuclear decay provides a micro-scale anchor and cosmology provides macro-scale anchors. These anchors do not represent absolute limits. The universality of SUR lies in the form of the relation itself, offering a framework to understand persistent uncertainty across physical and cosmological systems as structural inevitabilities.
