Ethro Time Theory — A Computational Framework for Perceptual Temporal Flow in Virtual Environments
The Ethro Time Theory introduces a mathematical model to describe perceived (experienced) time as an integral of a dynamic Ethro Rate r(t), which depends on contextual and physiological variables. The model enables controlled manipulation and measurement of subjective time in virtual and augmented reality, cognitive simulations, and adaptive systems. We present the formal equations, practical constraints, and example rate models, and provide a web-based simulation. This work is released under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
