Extended KPIs for Decisions-Makers in the Development of BIPV Solutions
Innovative components commonly use key performance indicators to assess their relevance. For BIPV solutions, it's the energy indicator that is commonly favored. In the European INCREASE project, we wanted to extend these indicators to provide strong decision-making keys for determining which BIPV solutions are the most appropriate for all stakeholders. Based on the work initially carried out as part of T15 of the IEA's PVPS program, we have identified additional parameters to take account of sustainability and reliability issues. To meet the expectations of the construction industry and the multifunctionality of BIPV components, we have also defined two new performance indicators to provide extended decision-making tools for all players in the value chain. These elements not linked with energy production focus on building capabilities and end-users’ feelings.
