Photovoltaic Hosting Capacity in Nordic Distribution Grids
Due to the ongoing energy transition, distribution grids are experiencing a rapid change. Centralized power production is being replaced by variable, distributed electricity production such as wind and solar power. Many consumers have been installing photovoltaic (PV) power production at their premises. The variability of PV generation and its impact on grid performance poses challenges. Understanding these challenges is crucial for optimizing PV system integration. This research aims to investigate the factors affecting PV hosting capacity in Nordic distribution grids using real measurement data for PV modules as well as real Finnish distribution grid data. The findings will prove insights on different types of low voltage grids in Finland and compare them.
