A Rare Clinical Case of a Patient with Splenic and Hepatic Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis, also known as Besnier-Boeck-Schaumann disease or syndrome, is a granulomatous inflammatory disorder of unknown origin that typically affects young individuals. The most commonly affected are the lungs, skin, and eyes. Splenic involvement in sarcoidosis is extremely rare, with reports in the scientific literature limited to isolated cases. We present a clinical case of a 48-year-old woman, operated in the Second Department of Surgery at University Hospital “St. Marina,” with involvement of the spleen and liver due to sarcoidosis.
