Overcoming Process Related Limitations in the Context of the Back Contacted polyZEBRA Solar Cell Technology

TOPCon-based back-contacted silicon solar cells are a bridging technology between current TOPCon industrial standard and future fabrication of high efficient tandem technology. The polyZEBRA concept is such a back-contacted solar cell and promises a lean and cost-effective fabrication. In this contribution, the recent progress in technology optimization is reported, namely the influence of the base resistivity, of an improved screen-printing paste and of the AlOx deposition technique. The results indicate the usage of high ohmic base material, improved screen-printing paste and of atomic layer deposition for AlOx passivation. The combined learnings of those aspects lead to a 24.3% efficient champion cell.
