Development of a Rooftop Mock-up Covered with PV Panels for Temperature Flux Measurements
This work describes a realistic small-scale rooftop setup of an urban house that was built at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, Germany. The setup consists of two identical chambers, where one side of the roof is covered with installed PV panels while the other side is uncovered. Temperature sensors are placed at various positions and different depths of the roof to measure the temperature flux between the inside and outside of the setup. Combined with auxiliary measurements, including the erection of a 17-meter-high measuring mast, results of these measurements will be used to validate a new PV parameterization of the Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) model PALM.
