Retrieving the Radiation Properties of Maritime Antenna Arrays in the Presence of Faulty Elements
Continuous monitoring and analysis of the marine environment are essential for the protection and preservation of maritime ecosystems. However, these operations are often challenged by the complex and unpredictable nature of maritime propagation conditions. Remotely sensed measurements have long served as a valuable tool in this domain, with antenna arrays playing a particularly vital role due to their ability to reconfigure radiation patterns-an especially advantageous feature in such environments. Nonetheless, faults in array elements can significantly degrade radiation performance and compromise system reliability. This paper investigates the impact of faulty elements on antenna array pattern synthesis and proposes a robust strategy to mitigate their effects. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through comprehensive analysis and simulation results.
