Relationship between Digital Technologies and Supply Chain Resilience: The Mediating Roles of Dynamic Capabilities and Supply Chain Cooperation
Ensuring the safety and stability of supply chains during pandemics is a critical challenge for cities. The adoption of digital technologies has emerged as an essential strategy for enterprises to mitigate disruption risks and strengthen supply chain resilience. This study investigates how digital technologies influence supply chain resilience, drawing on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities view. In this study, we collected 438 valid responses from 79 enterprises in construction materials, metals, automobile manufacturing, and instrument manufacturing in Chengdu and Shanghai, China. The data were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling technique. The findings reveal that digital technologies have a direct and significant impact on supply chain resilience. Moreover, flexibility, agility, and visibility, as dynamic capabilities, play a mediating role in the indirect relationship between digital technologies and supply chain resilience. Additionally, digital technologies significantly enhance supply chain cooperation. Furthermore, agility and visibility mediate the relationship between supply chain cooperation and supply chain resilience. This study aimed to provide theoretical support for enterprises and cities in cultivating emerging digital technologies to promote supply chain digital transformation and upgrading. In particular, city managers are advised to incorporate supply chain resilience as one of the capacity-building goals of urban resilience.
