PV and PVT Systems Design for "Raspa y Amagado" Greenhouses
Achieving symbiosis between agriculture and photovoltaic production is one of the most critical aspects of developing Agri-PV, being the integration with greenhouses one of the main research lines. Among greenhouses, Almería’s region, in Spain, shows a unique typology, known as “raspa y amagado” (or Almería-type), characterized by lightweight removable plastic covers. The present study is part of the Agrisol project; a Spanish-national project that seeks to implement agrivoltaic technology (Agri-PV) in Almería-type greenhouses. Within this project, options for achieving an efficient and simple installation of solar systems in this type of greenhouses have been studied. Innovation was also achieved with the integration of photovoltaic-thermal air-based solar panels, which generate hot air that can contribute to general heating, ventilation, or cooling consumption, depending on the greenhouse and crop requirements. This paper presents the studies and designs developed for the Agri-PV system. It is the first study conducted on “raspa y amagado” greenhouses with photovoltaic and hybrid (PVT) panels.
