μLectures: Confocal microscopy (second edition)
This presentation is part of the μLecture series about useful microscopy-related topics, organized by the Microscopy Service Centre, IEM CAS. It focuses on the basics of confocal microscopy. It covers the fundamental physical aspects of light and image formation in the microscope, explains the differences between brightfield, widefield, and confocal fluorescence microscopy, and discusses different implementations of confocal microscopes (laser scanning vs. spinning disk) and their practical distinctions. This presentation is especially suitable for students and new microscope users.
