DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN LANGUAGE LEARNING: ENHANCING MOTIVATION AND MULTILINGUAL COMPETENCE

This paper investigates the role of digital technologies in enhancing learners’ motivation and multilingual competence in foreign language education. In the modern academic environment, online platforms, artificial intelligence tools, and virtual learning spaces have transformed the way languages are taught and learned. The study explores how digital tools such as learning management systems, gamified mobile applications, virtual classrooms, and AI-based chatbots help to create engaging, learner-centered environments that stimulate both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The research also highlights how technology fosters multilingual awareness by providing access to authentic materials in multiple languages and enabling cross-cultural communication. The findings suggest that effective integration of technology supports learner autonomy, improves pronunciation and vocabulary retention, and promotes intercultural understanding. Overall, digital technologies not only accelerate the language learning process but also prepare students for communication in a globalized, multilingual society.
